Everything Portable Finds Files Fast

17 05 2009

Everything’s portable version takes a few seconds on launching to build a database of all the files on an NTFS-formatted drive, saves it in whatever folder you’ve saved the application, then brings up a single text box to type into, and a big white space without any files listed?yet. As soon as you start typing in file names, regular expressions, or boolean-style operators (like ! in front of “not” phrases), Everything almost instantly pulls up the files matching that search.

Stephen’s Relay For Life? Event

8 06 2008

Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or the neighbor down the street, we all know someone who has been touched by cancer. I recently lost my Mother to brain cancer and I know firsthand about the devastation any disease can bring to a family. I want to do something to make a difference.

That’s why I’ve decided to take part in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life? and support my sisters in their sponsorship of a relay team. It’s an event that brings together the whole community and helps raise funds for the fight against this disease. I know you care about cancer, too, and I’d love for you to join me as part of my Relay team.

At the event, we’ll camp out overnight, walk around the track, and meet lots of new people. There is an incredible tribute to cancer survivors and caregivers that starts off the night and a moving ceremony honoring those who have fought the disease. I can truly say Relay is unlike anything else you’ll ever do. It’s a night full of fun, hope, and remembrance.

You can get more information about Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society by clicking the link below. Won’t you join me in this fight? Even if you are unable to attend the event or donate to the cause, joining our team will get you a T-shirt as a reminder that you supported our team.

Thank you!

Martha Louise (Blann) Payton

31 03 2008

I dedicate this post to my Dear Mother who recently passed away . . .

Mum, You’ll be in my heart, forever!

Mother in December of 2007

Longtime resident of Republic, MO, Marty Payton, was well known for her positive attitude and cheerful disposition, stood firm in her faith in Jesus Christ whom she loved with all her heart, maintained a sweet spirit, and was a continual encouragement to everyone.

She passed away peacefully in her sleep from a brain tumor at the age of 66 on the evening of Wednesday, March 26th in her home, surrounded by her family. Marty joined her father and mother, William and Alta Blann; her brother, Robert; and her granddaughter, Keilah Horner, in heaven.

Marty was born on April 16th, 1941 in Stamford, CT. She grew up in Wisconsin and met her future husband, Jerry Payton, in Jonesboro, AR. They were married on August 6, 1960 and have five children: Stephen from Springfield, MO, wife Becky (Westerman); Shelley from Clever, MO, husband Garry Forell; Anne from Battlefield, MO, husband Cavin Cowan; Amy from Springfield, MO, husband Shane Cloud; Christy from Nashville, TN, husband Michael Ghaffari. With eleven grandchildren: Jonathan, Kristin and Brittany Forell; Caitlin, Coty and Camry Cowan; Jordyn and John Lake Horner, Elijah Cloud; Evan and Andrew Payton. Marty’s sister Peggy (Blann) Phifer lives in Las Vegas, NV with husband Jim Phifer.

Marty was an administrative assistant for Keller Williams Realty and an Independent Marketing Director for Team National. She was a member of James River Assembly in Ozark, MO. Marty enjoyed traveling, and last year, she and Jerry celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in Hawaii. Always “on the go”, she led an active and exuberant lifestyle. She loved to spend time with friends, family, and her grandchildren.

A private graveside ceremony was held at Manley Cemetery in Battlefield, MO on Saturday, March 29th. Marty’s desire was for friends and family to gather in celebration of LIFE. Her memorial service is at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2nd in Clark Chapel at James River Assembly in Ozark, MO. Donations can be made in memory of Marty to Camp Barnabas, a non-denominational Christian summer camp for children with special needs. Contact Meador Funeral Home in Republic, MO, or by visiting CampBarnabas.Org.
